Eureka
Seeds, Inc. was established in 1997 when owners
Craig Sharp and Ken Scarlett acquired the corn,
sorghum and alfalfa seed marketing operations
of SeedTec International, Inc. Also, included
in this acquisition was SeedTec’s worldwide
sunflower breeding program, which has since been
sold, and a hybrid sunflower seed production business
that remains intact. The company is headquartered
in Woodland, California, and is committed to providing
service and quality to an expanding customer base.
Today, Eureka Seeds has become a large regional supplier of hybrid corn, hybrid sorghum and alfalfa seed to farmers throughout the western United States. Selling under the Eureka Seeds Brand, Eureka has established a strong network of distributors and dealers to promote and sell a full lineup of high performing seed products. In addition to marketing products from traditional plant breeding efforts, Eureka has made several strategic alliances, which have allowed it to gain access to the latest transgenic developments currently available.
Eureka Seeds also maintains a staff that produces
hybrid sunflower seed under contract for many
of those companies involved in sunflower research
and development. Hybrid seed is produced in the
fertile Sacramento Valley of California and shipped
to customers both in the U.S and around the world.
With an experienced, professional staff, Eureka
Seeds offers an excellent alternative for independent
and professional seed production services.
