TRAITS
YieldGard VT Triple®
YieldGard VT Triple® uses VecTran® technology to put all the most advanced insect and weed control traits stacked
into one seed:
- Stalk protection
- Root protection
- Weed control when used
in the Roundup Ready® 2 Technology System
YieldGard VT Triple hybrid system maximizes yield
protection to maximize your corn’s genetic potential.
When it comes to root protection, stalk protection and weed
control, nothing stacks up to maximize your corn’s full genetic potential like
YieldGard VT Triple:
- More available
moisture and nutrients
- More uptake and
translocation of moisture and nutrients
- Less lodging
- Less ear drop
- Broad-spectrum weed
control with the Roundup Ready 2 Technology System.
YieldGard VT Triple hybrids protect against: Western Corn
Rootworms | Northern Corn Rootworms | Mexican Corn Rootworms | European Corn
Borers | Southwestern Corn Borers| Black Cutworms | Sugarcane Borers | Fall
Armyworms | Stalk Borers | Wireworms | White Grubs | Seed Corn Maggots | Early
Flea Beetles | Corn Earworms
The
Science Behind YieldGard VT Triple
YieldGard VT hybrids are created using a process called VecTran
technology, which stands for Vector-Stack Transformation. By combining two
traits using a single DNA-insertion process, it is a better way to produce
stacked traits:
- More efficient
- More consistent
- Less time-consuming
- Enhanced trait
performance
And by improving breeding efficiency processes, elite germplasm
with better, higher yielding traits can be available on your farm operation six
to 12 months faster.
YieldGard VT contains a better promoter.
A huge benefit of YieldGard VT is that it contains a
highly-active and more-consistent promoter of the rootworm gene. The promoter
is a biotech switch that turns on the gene to produce the insect-control
protein and more effectively distribute it throughout the root system. This
improved protein expression gives you:
- A more consistent
level of insecticidal protein
- A better barrier to
control corn rootworm larvae

Processor Preferred®
Overview

Monsanto established the Processor Preferred® brand to deliver grain with compositional value to processors and to unlock value for growers in new markets.
Our scientists confirm the value of Processor Preferred hybrids and varieties through world-class analytics. Monsanto's Crop Analytics Laboratories are two of the only labs in the world ISO 17025 certified for grain analysis. These internationally recognized quality assurance standards ensure our lab data are reliable, repeatable and consistent, so you can have confidence that products carrying the Processor Preferred brand designation can deliver the value processors prefer.
Processor Preferred corn hybrids yield more of the valuable traits that processors want or can mill more economically. These hybrids include High Extractable Starch (HES) and High Fermentable Corn (HFC) and are available in a wide range of relative maturities and trait categories.
Processor Preferred corn can deliver compositional value to processors and unlock value for growers in new markets:
Processor Preferred High Extractable Starch (HES) hybrids can deliver higher levels of extractable starch, which allows corn wet millers to produce higher starch yields that they can turn into products that include high fructose corn syrup, corn oil, specialty starch products, commodity starches and ethanol.
Processor Preferred High Fermentable Corn (HFC) hybrids can deliver higher levels of fermentable starch, which allows dry mill ethanol plants to obtain higher ethanol yields for greater profit potential. |

| "IMPORTANT: The following information is current as of 05/01/08: YieldGard Plus and YieldGard Rootworm with Roundup Ready Corn 2 are grandfathered for import and use in processed feed in the E.U. YieldGard Plus with Roundup Ready Corn 2, YieldGard VT Rootworm/RR2, and YieldGard VT Triple are neither approved nor grandfathered and there is zero tolerance for these traits in processed feed imported in the E.U. Growers of all products bearing the Market Choices mark must talk to their grain handler to confirm the handler’s buying position for grain from these products. It is a violation of national and international law to move material containing biotech traits across boundaries into nations where import is not permitted. |
